With the new Harry Potter series on HBO Max, many things are set to be different. The series format offers more room for subplots and character development than the feature films.
The production budget is expected to be over 200 million dollars per season – comparable to House of the Dragon. Characters like Neville Longbottom, Luna Lovegood, and the Weasley twins will receive significantly more screen time.
The tone of the series will be darker – typical for HBO productions. This is expected to be clearly noticeable, especially in the later seasons.
