About the band

JANSKY is a sibling duo – Martin and Anna Rupp – from the Burgenland and Lower Austria region. They form their sound from an organic electro/chamber-pop mix: poetic lyrics, flute, string sections, and saxophone embedded in electronic arrangements. Their debut LP1 was released in 2020, followed by LP2 in 2023, produced by Problembär Records.

Musical Style and Themes

Style: Organic electro-pop, often described as chamber-pop – intimate, chamber-music-arranged pop music with electronic elements

Sound: Atmospheric, timeless, poetic, and often with mysterious, cryptic lyrics about everyday objects or nature imagery

Themes: Emotional authenticity, nature, language, everyday life – alienated into aesthetic soundscapes.

LP1 (November 2020) – released on Problembär Records, contains tracks like “Zeilen”, “Venedig”, “Outro”…

LP2 (June 2023) – second full-length record; album presents itself as an atmospheric whole-album experience, release concert at the Viennese Schikaneder mica – music austria

Live Performances and Energy

Live performances: JANSKY plays both as a duo and with a live band – including strings and saxophone – for example, “Jansky & das Post-Rock-Orchester” at WUK Vienna (May 2021)

2025 tour dates according to:

June 18 – Linz (Musikpavillon)

July – Vienna (Kramladen)

August – Bruck/Leitha at KulturON – with band and exclusively new music

Energy: Live performances are characterized by a dense, organic atmosphere and dynamic interplay between electronic sound textures and chamber music elements.
