It is official: HBO Max has confirmed that the long-awaited Harry Potter series will premiere on Christmas Day 2026. The new production based on J.K. Rowling's novels promises a more faithful adaptation than the 2000s films.
According to the streaming service, each of the seven books will receive its own season, so that previously neglected storylines finally get their due. Fans can look forward to characters like Peeves the Poltergeist and more extensive appearances by Dobby and Winky.
